The health care is being provided at considerably wide and improved scale, both in rural and urban areas. At present there are 317 medical institutions in the district which includes One District hospital and six sub-district hospitals, 30 Primary Health Centers, 24 sub centers, 28 allopathic dispensaries, 43 Ayurvedic dispensaries. About 132 family welfare centers and sub centers are running in the in the District. With a total of about three hundred doctors there is one doctor available for every 2399 persons in the district. Whereas there are nine medical institutions for every 20000 persons.
